About BACARA

BACARA, a Tollycraft 57 pilothouse motor yacht with robust construction, spacious layout, and excellent offshore capabilities, including a large cockpit, extensive fuel capacity, and a solid, hand-laid fiberglass hull. These yachts are known for their high-quality craftsmanship, unique features like the full-beam salon and gourmet galley-up design, and the well-regarded dependability of its 650 HP MTU engines.

She was built on an efficient semi-displacement hull with a solid fiberglass bottom and mega-wide 17-foot, 3-inch beam. The standard three-stateroom floorplan of the Tollycraft 57 is arranged with the dinette and galley forward, on the pilothouse level. The spacious, full-beam salon with entertainment center has a single portside wing door for access to the foredeck.

On the lower level, the amidships full beam master and both guest staterooms are forward of the engine room. Accessed from the large cockpit, the engine room has crouching headroom only but outboard access is excellent. A cockpit transom door and Hydraulic swim platform are upgrades. Over thirty vessels were built.

Design and construction

  • Durable hull: Built with a thick (often 2-inch), solid, hand-laid fiberglass hull that is known for its longevity and ability to handle offshore conditions.
  • Spacious and versatile layout: Features a full-beam salon, a large cockpit suitable for fishing or entertaining, and multiple staterooms and heads. The "pilothouse" design provides an elevated helm station.
  • Quality materials: Known for exceptional craftsmanship, including features like custom upholstery, high-end woodwork, and upgraded options like granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.

Performance and capability

  • Long-range cruising: Benefits from a large fuel capacity, allowing for longer trips to destinations like Mexico.
  • Offshore ready: The robust build and design make it well-suited for coastal and offshore cruising, a key feature for its Pacific Northwest origins.
  • Engine reliability: Often equipped with reliable and powerful engines, such as the MTU 8V183TE92, which adds to its desirability and dependability.

Features

  • Large cockpit: Provides ample space for fishing or entertaining and can be a central gathering point.
  • Gourmet galley-up design: The galley is located on the main level, making it a central social hub for guests and family.
  • Generous storage: Designed with extensive storage space, particularly in the master stateroom, to accommodate longer voyages.
  • Easy access: Features "easy sidewalk" style walkarounds and built-in steps to the bow, making deck access safer and more convenient.
